Sepia Band: Color them remarkable
by Crispina Martinez - Belen January 29, 2016
They’re said to be one of the best bands from the Philippines, showcasing their talent and musicality before international audiences ever since they started getting foreign bookings in 2009.
Formed in 2006, they call themselves the “Sepia Band”, originally composed of six members: Lemuel Tuba, Rembert Vecida, Efraim Tenorio, Jahaziel Mark Ravida, Princess Abellana and Phervil Gadil.
In 2009, after performing on various stages in Manila, which honed them professionally, two members, Monica Niedo and Verr Iguban, were added to the group, completing their harmony. That year, “Sepia Band” signed up with a new manager, the Talents Crib and soon after, they had their first international booking – at the Park city Everly Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn) in Bintulu Sarawak in Malaysia.

After that, they went the round of Australia: Solomon Islands, Tawau, Kota Kinabalu Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, Cambodia, Indonesia, a few different places in Malaysia, and short stints in Brunei, Singapore and Australia. They learned to cope with the challenges of being traveling performing artists.
They’ve been together for nine years (six years under Talents Cribs) and they’ve made their mark through energetic performances, harmonized rhythm, well-crafted musicality as well as their amazing physique. But when asked what made them solid and successful as a group, their answer is God! Yes, the most beautiful thing about them is that they pray every night as one family. They pray before and after each of their shows.
By the way, while waiting for their next foreign booking, the “Sepia Band”currently performs at the Crib Cafe at Metrover Bldg. in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
